The Math Obby 3 is a Roblox obstacle course (“Obby”) created specifically for Maths Missions, where Maths practice is built directly into the gameplay. Students complete Maths challenges as they progress through the Obby, earning Brainy Bux, unlocking pets and other rewards, and working their way through different stages as their confidence grows — turning Maths practice into part of the adventure rather than a separate task.
Maths Mission Level 3 roughly corresponds to the UK Year 2 and Year 3 Maths curriculum and builds on the foundations from the previous levels. Addition and subtraction now begin crossing through groups of ten, introducing calculations such as 18 + 5 and 33 − 6. We’ll also move further into Times Tables while exploring doubling and halving simple two-digit numbers — using doubling to develop multiplication skills and halving to strengthen understanding of division.
Designed with learning anxiety in mind, The Math Obby 3 encourages students to experiment, make mistakes and try again without the pressure of traditional worksheets or written exercises. Throughout the class, I support students with different strategies, explanations and prompts as we work towards building their confidence, understanding and independence with Maths.
Not sure which level to choose? I recommend starting with Maths Mission Level 1. Beginning with familiar Maths gives students the opportunity to experience early successes, build confidence and create a positive foundation before progressing through Maths Missions.
